Dana McAllister
Dr. Dana McAllister originally hails from a small town in coastal New Hampshire. She completed her BS degree in Biology in Washington, DC, and then spent two years after graduation working as a veterinary technician in a primary care practice. She obtained her DVM degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine with a focus in small animal medicine.
After graduation, Dr. McAllister spent several years practicing in southwest Virginia, working full-time as a feline veterinarian in a cat-only clinic, and part-time as an emergency veterinarian for the local ER. It was during this time that she realized her passion for emergency medicine and moved to Asheville to pursue it full-time. Dr. McAllister has a particular interest in feline medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.
When not at work, Dr. McAllister enjoys spending time riding and training her horse (Ollie), hiking with her dog (Charlotte), or reading on the couch with her two cats (Daisy and Olive).
