Dayna Baxter
Dr. Dayna Baxter received her DVM from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 2009. She brings 15 years of experience to the table, spanning a broad range of veterinary disciplines. Although a native of Massachusetts, Dr. Baxter remained in Texas after graduation, laying groundwork in general practice for four years. In 2013 she opened her own hybrid practice in Houston, Texas, offering house calls as well as concierge-based in-clinic services and after-hours emergency care. In 2021 she transitioned back to what she loves most when she joined the emergency and critical care team at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, one of the largest emergency and specialty centers in Texas. Dr. Baxter also has special interests in diagnostic imaging, clinical pathology, and any and all unsolved complicated problems. She believes very strongly in connecting with her clients and offering the best level of medicine and compassionate care possible to her patients.
Dr. Baxter made the journey from Houston, TX to Asheville to escape the "concrete jungle" and to enjoy nature again with her family and two bird dogs, Turk and Pearl. Outside of work, Dr. Baxter is typically at the mercy of her two teenage daughters, June & Kate but otherwise enjoys hiking, home and yard projects, cooking, raising chickens, and consuming copious amounts of true crime media.
