Dr. Meredith Kapler is originally an Asheville native, having graduated from both TC Roberson High School and UNC Asheville. She attended University of Tennessee for veterinary school and Virginia Tech for her one-year rotating internship.

Afterwards, she performed an orthopedic research fellowship back at the University of Tennessee before completing a three-year residency in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery at North Carolina State University.  She achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2016 and worked at a private practice in Raleigh, NC before joining the Upstate family.

Dr. Kapler lives in Fletcher with her husband, daughter, two naughty German Shepherds, and a geriatric kitty cat. She enjoys horseback riding, running, and spending time with her family in her spare time.
