Allison Barbour
Dr. Allison Barbour is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina. She obtained her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She completed her small animal rotating internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, NC, and completed a specialty oncology internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA. She then completed a clinical trials internship, followed by an oncology residency and a Master of Science, at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center.
Dr. Barbour is passionate about multimodal oncology care and improving quality of life for pets with cancer. She understands the emotional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis and strives to work hand in hand with pet owners to develop personalized treatment plans that balance the most advanced therapies with each family's goals.
Dr. Barbour is excited to return to her roots in North Carolina and make Asheville her new home! Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time outdoors, kayaking, attending live music events, improving her below-average golf game, and hopes to take up fishing. She enjoys spending time with her dog, Perrin, and her two cats, Opal and Archie. She is especially excited to be closer to her family and looks forward to spending more time with them, particularly spoiling her two nephews.
