Dr. Wedig received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University. After graduation, she completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital where she trained under specialists in emergency and critical care, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, cardiology, and oncology. During her internship, she discovered a passion for emergency medicine and published research on veterinary trauma in the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

After her internship, she traded the Rockies for the Appalachians to join the SAVES team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, backpacking, gardening, and reading. Recently, she has been trying her hand at bonsai and embroidery.
