Dr. Sharon Finster received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 2003. She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan Canada, where she was part of the veterinary team for the 350-mile Canadian Challenge sled dog race. She returned to North Carolina State University to complete an emergency & critical care residency. After residency, Dr. Finster practiced in the Northeast and on the west coast, finally returning to the home base of North Carolina to be close to family.

Dr. Finster's professional interests include diabetic ketoacidosis, polytrauma, respiratory disease, and post-operative care. She is passionate about medicine as a team sport, working cohesively with every member of the doctors and staff to bring the best care to her patients. Outside of work, Dr. Finster enjoys spending time with her opinionated terrier mix, Ernie, hiking, traveling, kayaking, and hanging out with her two nephews.
